Hotel announces a year of support for sick children
Pelham House Hotel is to spend 2011 raising funds for the county’s only children’s hospice.
It will be holding a series of glittering fundraising events throughout the year in aid of Chestnut Tree House, the children’s hospice for Sussex.
The hospice, which was opened in 2003, cares for children and young adults up to the age of19 who have progressive life-limiting and life-threatening illnesses.
Community Fundraiser for Chestnut Tree House, Juliette Macpherson, said that any monies raised by Pelham House will be put to vital use.
“It costs over £2 million a year to provide our specialist service and we receive very little government funding so we rely heavily on the generosity of the public.
We are thrilled to have the support of Pelham House Hotel which will not only raise much-needed funds for us but also help to raise our profile, particularly in the Lewes area,” she added.
Abi Stevenson, Pelham House Hotel Business Development Manager, said: “We actively raise money for charity and last year supported the Rockinghorse charity and Help for Heroes.
We are delighted to be able to offer our support to Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice this year as it does such wonderful work with both children and their families.”
