Art Exhibitions at Pelham House

Pelham House is strongly committed to the promotion of arts and culture.

The house and grounds play host to a permanent collection of modern sculpture and throughout the year, we stage exhibitions of painting and photography by local artists.

In addition, our venue is regularly hired by arts groups and promoters to stage a wide variety of theatrical, musical and poetic cultural events.

Sculpture is always on exhibition in the garden and comes and goes as if by magic, so you never know when you will find a piece you haven't seen before.

All our exhibitions are open from 9.00am to 9.00pm and are free. Nearly all work is for sale.

Our facilities are also popular for lecture series, group meetings and weekend seminars.

Guy Stevens has exhibited regularly at Pelham House over the last four or five years. Visit his website here.

Feb 3rd to April 7th

The return of Graham Sendall working local scenes in watercolour, in a very “English” way. Both beautiful originals and highly affordable prints  make this artist well worth a visit. On display in the foyer.

Also in the Foyer will be a playful insect sculpture by Serena Thirkell, created in metal, yet with its own indomitable personality.

In the bar for the first time, Gilly McCadden’s silk screen prints and watercolours spring directly from flora and forna. These quiet, elegant images are also sold at a highly competitive price.

From Feb 25th, a different take on landscape and flowers by  photographer Tim Divine will be on show in the restaurant.

April 8th to June 8th

Tom Walker - a highly individual artist (also our Easter weekend artist in residence) shows his work in pastel, which will include work produced at Pelham House.

He will be working at Pelham on Sunday April 4th and bank holiday Monday April 5th.

The work made during his time at Pelham will be exhibited in his show in the foyer.

Shyama Ruffell continues to extend studies of her natural forms, showing original oil paintings and prints. In the bar.

Don’t forget the sculptures in the garden, where the work constantly changes.
